Abbe Kirsch, LM, CNM
Abbe Kirsch is a Certified Nurse Midwife with more than two decades of experience caring for women and families across the reproductive lifespan. She is passionate about holistic, patient-centered care and believes in meeting each person within the context of their values, history, family, and community.
Abbe has spent the past 26 years practicing in New York City primarily serving the South Bronx community. Her clinical focus has included adolescent health, high-risk pregnancy, and comprehensive family planning. She founded a CenteringPregnancy program that thrived for over 15 years and has contributed to New York State and NYC Department of Health initiatives addressing birth equity, substance use, and perinatal mood disorders.
In addition to clinical care, Abbe has taught and precepted OB/GYN and Family Practice residents, as well as midwifery and medical students. She earned her MSN in Midwifery and MPH in Population Health from Columbia University and her BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She speaks French and Spanish and considers it one of her greatest privileges to care for multiple generations within families.
