Angela Ferin, LM, CNM
Angela Ferin is a Certified Nurse Midwife. Her passion for midwifery began over two decades ago with the birth of her first child attended by a midwife. Her midwife’s kindness and patience during birth inspired her to want to give that same level of care to other people. Her experience in the birth world includes being a doula, childbirth educator, Registered Nurse, lactation counselor, and now a midwife. She has worked across almost every aspect of reproductive health from providing obstetric care and comprehensive gynecology visits to family planning and menopause support.
Having worked in healthcare systems across the U.S. and Europe, Angela learned how important it is to be mindful of cultural differences and preferences of each family and tend to their particular needs during pregnancy and beyond. As someone who personally has given birth in various settings: at a hospital with an epidural, in a home birth setting, as well as via c-section and VBAC, Angela resonates deeply with Oula’s philosophy that there is no “right way” to give birth.
Angela has worked as a midwife at Maimonides Medical Center (one of the busiest labor and delivery floors in New York City!) and Lenox Hill, and provided full-scope midwifery care in private practice at Central Park South Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, as well as taught midwifery students there. She received her Master’s degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and her B.S. in Nursing from St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
