Amanda Weingarten is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Lactation Consultant. She believes midwifery is not only about practicing evidence-based medicine, but also about ensuring that each patient’s understanding and consent is an integral part of the process. She has seen the benefits of bringing midwives and OBGYNs together first hand, and has a strong commitment to deeply listening to the needs, hopes, and fears of her patients to deliver whole person care that extends into postpartum.

Amanda has helped bring over 500 babies into the world, with prior work experience providing full scope midwifery care at Mt Sinai West, New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan, and NYU Langone hospitals. In particular, her experience has spanned multiple collaborative practices with OBGYNs as well as in-hospital birthing centers. Amanda received her MS in Midwifery from Columbia University, and BA in Psychology from Boston University.
