Megan Fendt is a Certified Nurse Midwife, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.

She started her career as a registered dietitian, laying the foundation of her practice in holistic wellness, and later becoming a diabetes educator. Guiding patients through their experiences with Types 1 and 2 and gestational diabetes taught Megan the power of patient-centered care. She saw firsthand how bringing patients into the driver’s seat and empowering them to participate in shared decision making improved their outcomes and their quality of life.

Megan continued to move into the birthing space by working as a birth and postpartum doula, and then returned to nursing school to become a labor and delivery nurse and eventually a midwife. She incorporates all of her experience into her full-scope midwifery practice, where she welcomes people from all races, ages, identities, sexualities and family structures.

Megan has welcomed hundreds of babies into the world as a nurse at Mount Sinai West Hospital and New York Presbytarian, and as a midwife at Stony Brook Hospital on Long Island. She received her Masters in Nurse Midwifery and Bachelors in Nursing from New York University.
