Midwife She / Her
“I love science! I love magic! And I love building communities of women! That’s why I’m a midwife.”
Get Started with Oula

Trixie Kioko-Kamps is a Certified Nurse Midwife. Her path to Oula and midwifery started with her own homebirth in Vermont, where her midwife showed her that birth is an inherently sacred part of the human experience. She saw how important it is to center the pregnant person in the birth experience, and make them feel heard and empowered. She believes strongly in Oula’s mission to bring midwifery into the mainstream as the evidence-based and holistic model of care that it is. As one of only about 300 Black midwives in the country, Trixie is particularly passionate about providing access to midwifery care to the BIPOC community.

Trixie has over seven years of experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Mt. Sinai West and most recently, as a full-scope midwife in Paterson, NJ. She received her M.S.N. in Midwifery from Frontier University, her B.S. in Nursing from Russell Sage College, and B.S. in Biology from the University of Albany.
